Every extraction is a considered act. We source exceptional single-origin beans and treat each cup as a refined expression of place and process.
Rooted in Greenock's heritage, we are more than a café. We are a gathering place — for ideas, for people, for the quiet rituals that make a day meaningful.
From the calibration of our grinder to the temperature of our milk, we hold every detail to the same standard: nothing less than remarkable.
Our Story
Born from a desire to bring something genuinely extraordinary to the west of Scotland, The Ardmore opened its doors on Hamilton Street with a single conviction: that great coffee, properly sourced and expertly prepared, has the power to transform an ordinary moment into something lasting.
We work directly with farms across Ethiopia, Colombia, and Honduras — choosing producers who share our commitment to sustainable practice and flavour integrity. Each coffee is roasted to a bespoke profile in small batches, ensuring every cup carries the full character of its origin.
Our sourcing philosophyThe Space
Designed by Edinburgh studio Arch & Grain, our interior draws on Greenock's maritime past — raw brick, reclaimed oak, and a palette of deep earth tones softened by warm light and curated greenery. A place designed to slow you down.
Whether you arrive alone with a book, to meet a client, or to spend an unhurried afternoon, you will find seats that invite you to stay, a soundtrack calibrated for thought, and service that anticipates without intruding.

What Our Guests Say
"Without doubt the finest coffee in the west of Scotland. The attention to detail in every cup is nothing short of extraordinary. The Saffron Latte alone is worth the journey from Glasgow."
"Walking into The Ardmore feels like stepping into a different world. Impeccable coffee, a beautiful considered space, and service that makes you feel genuinely welcome. Greenock needed this."
"Finally, a coffee shop that takes quality as seriously as I do. The Cortado is dialled-in perfectly — and the Cold Brew Tonic is a revelation. One of the best independent cafés in Scotland, full stop."
"The craftsmanship here is exceptional at every level — the coffee, the interior, the warm attentiveness of the staff. They have created something truly special. Already planning my return visit."
